Pioneer 1000SRT w/ S7/VJM D10 2 Channel Mixer, USB Inputs, Bluetooth Channel, Metal Platters and Metal Casing?

Sure if it was really the best of the best in both build, quality, soundcard, and everything else I mentioned. I think Pioneer could make it for less than a $3000 retail price point. If Rane is charging $1599 retail for the Rane ONE controller which comes with motorized platters, high quality build, construction, mag 4 fader, great sound card, etc... I don't really think adding CDJ3000 platters, 2 more magvel faders, stripping down the 4 channel mixer to a 2 channel mixer and just overall higher quality parts mass produced by Pioneer would add to the cost by another $1500. Again I definitely don't work in manufacturing, I'm just saying midi controllers started out as toys with cheap sound cards made of plastic for beginning dj's, there is a market of high end professional mobile dj's and touring musicians that would happily pay more for a mobile high quality unit.

I completely agree here, rane literally did it for $1599 and utilized motorized jog wheels, do only thing they are missing is hardware fx. Which would be a trade off of the motorized platters for you guys. I see no reason this can’t be done, the old club style mixer layout has been replaced with the more favorable s7/9/11 layouts with fx triggers. Also, one thing that wasn’t added is there should be 2 mic channels like the Rane one, with one being able to switch to an aux in. If rane can do it, so can you.

I myself in my responses never mentioned the USBs. I particularly don’t care for that method, I am more focused on the s7 style mixer, and the jog wheels, with a better sound card and microphone quality. You do something like the for $1500 and you’d build the ultimate mid level controller for mobile and club djs. Tbh.

Great question, $1500-$2000 seems to be the sweet spot for the higher end controllers, but I'm not on the manufacturing side so you tell me!

The reason I ask is you've asked for a lot of high-end features, above those of the XDJ-XZ... which retails for $2400. So if all the extras you're asking for were to add $300-500 to the price, would you be willing to slap down nearly $3000 for what you're pitching?

I would challenge the comparison of the quality of the Rane unit vs. a Pioneer DJ equivalent. ;)

I am assuming that was a joke, I am not denying Pioneer has great products, I can link you to many reviews of 1000srt vs Rane one, but I am sure as a competitor you have gone through the reviews already, and know both are. I can go more in depth with soundcard quality and crossfader quality etc, but this is a Pioneer forum, not going to do that.

A fair price point I think for something like discussed should be no more than $1,500.00, unless you are going to add higher quality components like the soundcard from the 900Nexus, higher quality pots that don't wiggle because they are plastic etc, even with those two described maybe $1800.00.

Just a consumer who owns your products opinion, people are moving forward towards the s7/s9/s11 style mixers, controllers should follow suit.

Oh and P.S. on behalf of a lot of us, I get RekordBox is your new baby, and you're trying to make it a standard, but you shouldn't stray away from Serato, it has a huge base still and money can definitely be made, as shown with the success of the 1000srt.

Sorry, I'm not kidding - if Pioneer DJ were to produce what you're asking for, the cost would be significantly more than $1800. As I already said - the XDJ-XZ is $2400 and doesn't have some of what you're asking for. Keep that in mind when you're dreaming up this fanciful controller. ;)

Hi @Pioneer, the XDJ-XZ looks amazing but it's much larger and almost twice the weight of a 1000SRT. It definitely has a lot of extra features, bells and whistles, etc... I understand your point that it's a high end unit, but I'm hoping/wishing for a stripped down version of something like this. The 1000 and 1000SRT units are perfect IMHO in shape, size, and layout (minus the cramped 4 channel mixer, again just my opinion). If Pioneer released say a DDJ 2000 that was made with a lighter weight metal construction similar to whatever Rane uses for their mixers, high quality sound card and internal components, faders etc... simple stripped down 2 channel mixer like an S7/S9, signature Pioneer hardware FX, great platters, and both USB Rekordbox (via USB) and Serato functionality, that would be the ultimate (again just my opinion). I really believe you guys can achieve this under a $2000 price point.

You are comparing the XDJ-XZ you are comparing this "price point" to, also has a large touch screen, and a similar mixer to the DJM-900NXS which costs roughly $900 more than a s7. You can't compare that to what we are discussing. We are looking for s7 style mixer, cdj 3000 style platters maybe, and a better sound card, but hey lets entertain the idea of your comparison to the XDJ-XZ.

Take off the Touch Screen, remove the mixer and replace it with an s7 style layout, and i bet that drops the price down significantly. Not trying to turn this into an argument, just saying it seems very doable.

I'm the one that mentioned USB connectivity and yes it would need a screen, so how about forget about USB inputs and just have a cross compatible controller that can be used by both Rekordbox DJ and Serato DJ Pro on a laptop? My main wishes are a 2 channel mixer, higher quality construction material, higher quality soundcard. Stripped down, higher quality. I don't expect much for mic outs from any controller or mixer (I use external mixers for mics). Not trying to push my luck, but what would a DDJ 2000 have or improve upon?
