How can I import tracks (with cues, ratings) on a new mac?

Hello community! My MacBook had to reinstall macOS due to a software bug. As a result, all of my playlists, tracks (including ratings, cues, etc.) have been deleted from Rekordbox. A back-up via the TimeMachine is not possible. I save all of my tracks via iCloud. On my USB-Stick are all traks with cue's and ratings.

Is there any other way to get the playlists back?

Hey Luke,

Sorry to hear about that. Yes, you can recover from an export USB drive - simply connect the drive to your computer, on the DEVICE entry at the left of rekordbox, create anew playlist ON the device. Add all songs from the device to that playlist (you'll see why in a second), then right-click on the playlist and select IMPORT PLAYLIST. It will ask if you also want to import the music - say yes, pick a location for it, and you're golden. Import the other playlists on the drive to keep those playlists as well.

For me it is of course natural to approach everything slowly and carefully, because otherwise 3 years of work are gone.

  1. Also, I create a new playlist in the bottom left under "Devices", for example for house music, and name it "House", right?
  2. You said "add all songs from the device to that playlist". Do you mean from recordbox to the playlist "House" or from my iCloud folder to this playlist?

Sorry, I think we must do it slowly, step-by-step.. :(

Select all the songs on the drive and add them to the new playlist - you can call it "Everything." The point of that step is to ensure that you haven't missed any songs simply by importing playlists.
