Rekordbox DVS Slowdown Issue

Hi,

I posted this issue back on the 13th of January.

Since then I am still having issues.  I have bought and installed a pair of Ortofon Red Timecode cartridges but its half fixed the issue, one deck is is calibrated and working fine but the other is will not calibrate and has constant slow/reverse signal. The issue moves if I swap the cartridges over but I know the needles are working fine as both work on my Serato DVS set-up (but I want to use rekordbox).

I am using a Windows 11 & 10 laptops (both i7 9th gen), 2x Pioneer PLX 1000, Ortofon Red cartridegs, DJM750-mk2 and a DDJ XP-2.

Thanks,

Chris West

Reverse? Sounds like you possibly have the L/R cables reversed. Try swapping them and see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks for getting back to me, really appreciate it.

I have just tried disconnecting and re-connecting the cables but the issue is still there.  The issues change on a daily basis and today the timecode plays in the correct direction but when I pull the the timecode vinyl backwards it moves the track forwards but it plays the track in the correct direction (with signal wobble and slowdown) .  The issue follows follows where that particular cartridge is installed but no issue on Serato.  It's really odd.  One deck will calibrate perfectly with one cart but the other will not calibrate and has a diagonal line like this / , no matter how I try to calibrate it manually it wont get the signal.

P.S The Ortofon cartridges came with nylon spacers and I have tried them too...again they work fine when playing normal vinyl.

Thakns

The diagonal line indicates a bad signal on one channel, so it's going to be an issue with the cartridge / headshell, the turntable wiring, the RCA between the turntable and mixer, or the mixer's inputs. Try checking those things.

Thanks for the quick response,

So the issue follows the where the cartridges is installed, so deck one is perfect but deck two is diagonal / .  I swap the cartridges around deck on has more of a horizontal line | and deck two is perfect.  This happens on two types of cartridges, Ortofon sealed units and Vestax cartridges which are on the pioneer head shells.

Thanks again,

Check the wiring on the headshell - that's the likely cause; you might have a loose or crossed wire.

I have just checked the wiring and now I have 2 diagonal lines, the tracks are playing normally but the track speeds up as i pull the timecode vinyl back to cue or scracth.

Yikes! Did you make it worse?! lol - It's definitely a pickup problem.
