Migrating from Engine DJ

Hey Guys

Newbie here as far as Pioneer is concerned.  Have finally seen the light and whilst I was reasonably happy with Denon Prime 2, if I want to improve my skills when playing out, I need to be in the Pioneer ecosystem.  I'm now the proud own of an XDJ XZ.  Only had it a week and cleanly analysed some tracks to play on the XZ for a gig.  I haven't yet migrated the entire library from Engine.  I have cuepoints and loops etc and I've Lexicon and cannot get it to work properly so it looks like I'll hgave to start with a clean slate.  Fortunately, my library is pretty clean with its folder structure but I'll have to rebuild every playlist...

@Pioneer - you HAVE to make it easier for come across, Denon does so don't see why you can't....

If anyone had had recent success, please advise.  Lexicon imports everything well but breaks when you export a playlist from the source drive to a USB.  The files go accross to the target USB but don't appear as analysed tracks under the playlist.  I've been trying this with small numbers of tracks too, its not duplicates or length filenames either....  so annoying....

If you are on macOS, then you can use the Denon eXtractor Tool (DeXT) to do to job. DeXT is part of the Denon Conversion Utility distribution and is a one time payment, so not subscription based.

Here is the tutorial

Keep in mind that regardless of what conversion you use, analysis of audio files is required in the target DJ software. The analysis creates the preview, overview and WAV graphical representations of the audio file. Sometimes the analysis overwrites the converted values for grid/bpm and key, but in Rekordbox you can turn analysis of those off. You still need to check one box for analysis and I recommend to use phrase analysis for that. If auto-analysis is eneabled in Rekordbox, then you can not disable BPM/grid.
