DDJ-1000 sound cut

I have never once had an issue with audio coming from my console until now. I have streamed live hundreds of times, played at gigs, and never once had a problem.

The issue I am having is as follows;

I start to play music and at random times the audio completely stops coming from the master channel and I have no sound at all. The sound does not just cut out for a brief moment, it stops completely until i re boot my console. I then press play, and again at a random moment in time it completely stops again.

I am connecting my console to my mac book pro via usb-c from the usb output connection of the console itself. I have tried all 4 usb-c ports, and they all do the same thing. I have re-installed the firmware and the audio drivers of the console, still has an issue. I have even upgraded my OS to 'Monterey' with no success.

what am i missing, what can i do to try fix this issue? my next step will be to try a new cable, but i am hoping you may know of a way to fix this issue?

Not all users have had issues with the 4.0 drivers, so downgrading is only something we recommend if you are having audio dropouts on Mac. Be sure to use the uninstaller from the driver package, then reboot, and install 3.0. If you can't find them, just ask.

Another important step many users miss is allowing the drivers through the macOS security.

During the last week two times more with same issue… always when use effects pads.

Same issue. Master out (xlr) completely stops. LED's still flashing away but no sound. Sometime toggling PC Master Out will resolve it. Other times need to reboot.

This makes a "professional" level controller useless for any kind of professional performance due to the unreliability and unpredictability of when this might occur.

Pioneer there are multiple reports of this issue and we need a solution. My platform is an intel macbook but I've seen reports of this on M1 as well.

Pioneer support advised me to uninstall the drivers version 4 (Mac) and then download and install version 3. It seems that with this downgrade, in tests that I have had time to do, it has not failed. Every time you open the application it advises you to update and you have to hit skip.

The instructions I got were as follows....

Please try below to uninstall ver. 4.0.0.

1. Disconnect the gear from the computer and terminate rekordbox application.

2. Uninstall the driver ver. 4.0.0.

Execute the uninstaller found in the dmg file of ver. 4.0.0 driver.

The driver ver. 4.0.0 is found in the folder under applications/rekordbox6/drivers.

Double click "xxxx_4.0.0.dmg", double click “xxxx Driver Uninstaller" and follow the instructions.

NOTE : The uninstaller of ver. 3.0.0 doesn't uninstall the ver. 4.0.0 driver.

3. Restart the computer.

4. Install ver . 1.1.0 audio driver on attached URL instead

https://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/software/controller/ddj-1000/#drivers

5. Refer to attached pdf file or follow these instructions that may help installing the diver.

You may need to change the security setting on your Mac (Allow Alpha Theta Corporation in Security & Privacy).

6. Restart the computer and test if everything works.
