Version 5.8.7 addresses a change in Pioneer's licensing and activation servers, correct? What exactly are those changes and how will it affect us now and in the future?

We are upgrading our license application servers; the address used for those servers is hard-coded. We will have an overlap of the old and new servers through December, anyone who has not upgraded to at least 5.8.7 or 6.6.4 by that point will no longer be able to validate or activate their software and it may no longer function.

Please be more specific. In the release notes for 5.8.7 it said this was specific to the Lyric plan in RB5.
Are you saying this update goes beyond the Lyric plan and all RB5 users MUST upgrade to 5.8.7 in order to continue to use RB5?
If you want to be able to activate a license for rekordbox 5, yes - you will need to upgrade to 5.8.7 or come December, rekordbox versions 5.8.6 or older will be attempting communication with a server address that is no longer valid, and thus will not function.
