Plx 500 on off switch broken

I bought my plx 500 less than a year ago and I've been so busy I was only able to start using it 2 months ago. It worked great the first 4 or 5 times and then it wouldn't spin. I can see when I turn it on the platter tightens up but the on off switch doesn't work. I contacted the retailer whom I bought it from and they said they could do nothing for me. So what do I do? This thing is brand new. Am I just out the money? Do i try to buy another switch, open it up and replace it? What if the new switch fails in 5 uses, do it again? Fyi, I don't scratch or beat on my turntable. Please help, I don't know what to do.
