DJM V10 VU meter Problem?

Hi, The VU meter on my V10 mixers go up/gets louder when I turn down the bass knob? When playing any track, all eqs at 12 o'clock for testing this happens on every channel when the bass is turned down indicating it's getting louder when actually you are taking away frequencies and the music gets quieter? Could you clarify if there is a problem with my mixer or do all V10's do this? Thanks.

This has happened on Pioneer DJ mixers for decades... something to do with how it's making the measurement for display, but it does not actually get louder. Don't worry too much about it.
