DDJ 1000 & Interface 2 for DVS

Hi all

Can anyone confirm that you can use the Pioneer Interface 2 with the DDJ-1000 for the purposes of unlocking the DVS function via the hardware unlock with the interface?

The only way DVS seems possible with the 1000 is via the rekordbox subscription which im not keen on at all (Would of thought a bit of kit like the 1000 would come with DVS unlocked?! )

So, buying a piece of hardware with the DVS unlock (IF2) seemed to be the way around it. Ive asked Pioneer support and they say it isn't possible, with no explanation as to why not?. But ive seen advice given on here (and other forums) that it is indeed possible. 

A once and for all answer on this would be really appreciated
