When I try ejecting my USB I get a message saying failed to write to USB device..

Hello,

I have a XDJ-R1 and am using rekordbox 5. I have created a large playlist of mp3 files and exported it successfully onto my 8GB USB stick. I have also made sure to set my device to XDJ-R1 in the preferences. When I go to eject it within rekordbox, it says that it's creating a library and when I get to 5% I get a message saying "failed to write to USB device", "failed to create the library please disconnect the USB device".

So when I plug in my USB into the xdj-r1 i have to go "folder", "contents", "artist name", "unknown album", then "artist name - track name". This is making it a lot more time consuming to find the tracks I want to load.

What do I need to to to have my playlist come up as an actual playlist on my controller?

Also if I go into finder and into the USB stick to alter the locations of tracks and edit their names, will they stay analysed?

Hi Pierre,

The reason it's not loading properly on the R1 is that the export database (clearly) isn't being written properly to the drive. I would first recommend you try reformatting it and ensure that it's FAT32 with Master Boot Record (MBR). It could also be a fault with the drive, so you may want to try another make / model.

Let us know if that works or if you have any other questions.
