Rekordbox dvs playback - sounds like a cassette tape being chewed up

I'm new to dvs with the interface 2 running on 1210's through a djm 600 mixer. All seems fine but now and then the sound will go a bit funny like a cassette tape being chewed up. Any ideas of the cause and resolution?

Hey Paul,

I like the description, but I'm not sure on what that might be. Can you give me some idea of the computer specs?

Given that it's a DJM-600, the mixer's age may indicate some degradation on the components - do you have the same problem running another analog source into those same inputs?
