record box is not picking up that my controller is in external mode

i cant seem to use the mixer section of my DDJ 200 and every time i click on the screen to change things like the crossfader or the volume it says invalid operation use connected Dj mixer/controller i external mode but when i go into settings it says it is already in external mode

Hey Ethan,

You actually want to be in PERFORMANCE mode for rekordbox to work with the DDJ-200; export mode is for preparing and exporting music to a USB drive or linking to Pro DJ Link compatible units.

Let us know if that resolves your issue.
