Adding support for Pioneer Pro DJ - Track Names & Play head position to a media server product.

 

We are developing some media server software and we're keen to add support for the Pioneer Pro DJ Link functionality.

 

The data we need is pretty simple, we just need to know:

 

Deck 1:

Track Title

Current Play Position HH:MM:SS:FF

 

Deck 2:

Track Title

Current Play Position HH:MM:SS:FF

 

To start with, we're just trying to make a simple system which plays videos in sync with the tracks currently playing on a two deck setup.

 

If you have any pointers on how to get to the data I need and what software applications & libraries we need installed that would be great. Ideally we would like to develop without having any hardware to start with, is it possible to develop and test with just Rekordbox & Pro DJ Link Bridge? Then once up and running test with some hardware products?

 

By the way we are running on Linux Ubuntu 18.04 I hope that will be ok?
