Hi,
I updated to Rekordbox 6 when it was released earlier this year and immediately reverted back to RB5, as RB6.0.0 was impossibly slow and buggy, like every single keystroke or mouse click would take 5-10 seconds to have any effect at all, sometimes up to 20 seconds or freezing outright. Everything – selecting a track in a playlist, navigating to a new playlist, loading, playing, pausing, whatever - is sluggish well beyond the point of being usable. CPU usage spikes over 100% whenever I click anything. Audio seems to play fine though, and the deck GUI seems to show playback without glitching or lagging.
Today I decided to try the latest version (6.0.4) to see if the issue had been fixed, and it seems not. On top of that, now about half of my left mouse clicks are registered as right-clicks, making the software even more impossible to use.
I'm using a 2018 MBP 15" running Mojave 10.14.15, with Radeon Pro 560X 4GB graphics, 32GB RAM, and a 2.9GHz i9. No controller, just using RB to organise my USBs to play out on CDJs. Should have no problem at all on this hardware.
I'm aware of the "fix" of hiding the wave preview/artwork, which didn't work for me (and in any case I kinda need the wave preview so this wouldn't be an acceptable workaround for me even if it did work). Changing the audio buffer size also had no effect.
So I'm sticking with v5 as RB6 remains unfit for purpose – are there any workarounds I'm missing, or is there any word on when a fix can be expected?
Thanks,
TJ
