this is my setup:
2 CDJ 2000 NXS 2
1 DJM 900 NXS 2
Laptop (Asus, Windows, I7, 16gb RAM, 500GB SSD + 2TB second drive)
Ethernet Gigabit switch Netgear
I use to connect both my CDJS to my laptop with a switch, and until I used Rekordbox 5.8 I never had a problem, even if my collection is very big (around 40k songs). After the update to v6, It became unusable. The CDJS are not able to navigate trough playlists and they keeps freezing when I try to search for something in the menu, so I always have to shut them down.
I disabled preview and artwork in Rekordbox, the waveform frequency is set to high and the color is set to RGB. CDJ's Firmware and drivers are updated to the latest versions. I even disable my firewall and put my laptop in flight mode to prevent connection issues but I always get the same result: rekordbox on my laptop freezes and the same is for CDJs. Can you please give me suggestions to solve this problem? I will temporarily downgrade to v5.8 hoping that everything will work fine as before.
Each version of rekordbox requires that you allow it through the firewall; a new installation identifies itself as a different executable, even if the path were identical (it's not; different folder name). You need to either allow all 4 of the network items through or disable the firewall.

Which version of RB6 were you using? When everything is connected, did the ProDJ link come up on the bottom of the RB screen? There were some issues with the first versions of RB6 but should be corrected in the current 6.1.0 version.
I have always updated Rekordbox when prompted. I am able to link in the laptop (icons for cdjs and djm appears).
I don’t know what causes this problem, but I went back to 5.8 for a gig last night and I did not have any problem, so I can say that this happens only with V.6 100%.
There’s one thing I can add to all the things I wrote in the main post: sometimes I received the message “unable to read Library” on the cdj and then the icon disappeared in Rekordbox.
Try connecting one device at a time and see if they work. Change the ethernet cables if you can. Try another switch if you have one. If you connect the 2 CDJs directly with an ethernet cable, does the USB link work?
I can exclude ethernet cables and switch (I already tried to change this one) ad they work perfectly with Rekordbox V.5.8. If I use USB I don’t have any problem, troubles start when I try to read and play songs from my rekordbox library on my laptop through CDjs.
I think I can also exclude firewall because as I wrote in the main post I always put my laptop in flight mode and disable firewall to prevent troubles.
Are you trying to play in export mode or performance mode?
Export mode, but also tried performance and nothing changed.
Just to be sure to be clean, I just want to use my laptop like a giant USB drive. I don't want to use rekordbox in a Traktor way, I just want to be able to read my library from my cdjs without freezing them every time.
