Playlist permanent file delete

Hi guys, I know this feature request has come by a couple of times, but still want to request for it as I don't want to use other software than Rekordbox for maintaining my collection.

Please add the possibility to permanently remove files from disk. My preference would be for you to add a shortcut to <Shift><Del> as well.

Unfortunately this is not yet added to rekordbox, but one of the things I'll do is go through my collection and when I find a song I want to remove (and delete the file), I'll use one of the MyTags to mark it for deletion. Later I'll use an intelligent playlist or a filter to show only those songs then I can make my way through the drive, showing them in their folder to delete the file, and then remove it from the collection as well.

while that would be a useful feature +1 from me.

You can already have something close to it but it's not single command/shortcut:

  • reveal the track in the finder or explorer (it's on the pull down menu when you right click it)
  • delete the audio file (command & backspace on MacOS)
  • remove the track from the RB collection.

Support! For now, I use the keyboard shortcut cmd+R (show track in finder). this somehow speeds up the process of deleting a file from disk.

Thank you for the replies, we all have our quirky work-arounds for this basic feature.

For example I use an external music player and drag the item I want to delete to the playlist of the external player. I delete the file there and then I look for missing items in Rekordbox.

This post was meant to be a feature request, as are the other 2 posts i made (although I'm not sure if posted it in the right place as the forum has been really buggy the last couple of days).
