Recording sets in Rekordbox 6 with non-Pioneer mixer, i.e Xone 96

For reasons A&H have never made clear, the xone96 Master is set to USB11/12, an annoying design decision since it makes it impossible to stream to OBS without third party software like Loopback (OBS can only see USB1/2).

You can get Rekordbox REC to recognize the xone96 but you need to change the INPUT RECORD under AUDIO in the RB preferences.

I used to own a xone96 but this was one of the ancillary reasons why we parted ways (it is a great mixer though).

Cheers for the reply. I would do that but there is a problem, the "input record" box is greyed out with a - sign. There is no option to select 11/12 master of the Xone 96 even though this is an input back to computer and works with Ableton no problem. 

Personally i think Pioneer have disabled this option so you can only use it with their DJM range.

Hey Richard. While I normally tend to agree (with or without actual evidence) with statements suggesting Pioneer DJ, as a matter of policy, cripple their hardware/software for a variety of nefarious reasons (depending on how early my cat woke me up that day), but in this case I cannot because I'm 99.9% sure i've recorded sets from a xone96 to Rekordbox.  

Are you on a PC or Mac? While the xone96 is a Mac USB Class Compliant CoreAudio CoreMIDI interface (so no driver needed on MacOS), when connecting a PC to the xone96 you'll need to download/install the Windows PC Device Software (needs a driver for full sound card access) found here: https://www.allen-heath.com/ahproducts/xone96/#tab5

If you have a Mac, you need to use he Audio Midi Audio Setup to see if your computer can see the xone96 as an audio input first.

Hi Matt, Once again thanks for taking the time out to reply. 

I have a Mac and i am quite technical with gear :). See my attached screenshots, one is in export mode. As you can see input 11/12 is there and can record. The other is in performance mode and set to external as i use DVS with the 96, the record input is greyed out.

I've seen it enabled on other devices, not personally familiar with using the Xone 96 with rekordbox, but I know the recording does work. It could certainly have something to do with DVS and that mixer tho.

I cant get my Xone96 working with RB at all. Im happy to reset all audio settings and start fresh if you could let me know how the hell you got it going :) Really appreciate it.

Xone 96 ch1 - Sl1210Mki7 Running RB Time Code [And can switch to phono for regular records]

Xone 96 ch2 - CDJ3000 [Currently running off USB Stick with Aggregate soundcard setup - please advise if io have to delete this soundcard setup if I run them in HID to not conflict with RB]
