DDJ RZX MAJOR issue
Dear Pioneer,
I am a proud owner of a DDJ RZX of 3 years however, I am having a major issue with the unit.
The USB A port has stopped displaying the waveforms for no reason (it shows the Rekordbox logo only). I took the unit back to the place of purchase (Store DJ, Brisbane, Australia) and despite updating the firmware and drivers, it still did not work. Port B works as it should. Store DJ referred me to the official local Pioneer repair centre, Brisbane Sound Group (BSG). Upon inspecting the unit BSG reported that the internal board is corrupt. This comes at a price of $1000 AUD plus 2 hours labour at $130 p/h.
So with repairs set at approximately $1500 after tax, I am left scratching my head as to how a $4000 unit can have failed internal components in such a relatively small period of time. I purchased the unit for the use of the 3 x 7" screens alone (despite all the additional features).
As a consumer I am fully accepting of the need to replace moving components as "fair wear and tear" such as faders, knobs, pots etc however, internal components that I have no access to should not simply stop working, especially something as important as the board that drives the visual side of the unit, arguably the most important feature in this particular model.
For your information, I am not a mobile DJ. I use this unit to deliver live streaming content twice per week from my home. The unit is in pristine condition and has only ever been physically moved 3 times (from store purchase to my home, from my home to Store DJ for analysis of the fault and from Store DJ to BSG for diagnosis of the fault).
The unit was purchased in July 2017 and even with the extended warranty it falls just short of the repair period.
My question to you is can you assist with replacing the faulty part? I would be happy to cover the labour costs to install the faulty component however, I cannot afford or justify such an expensive part which simply should not fail after just 3 years.
I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Paul Nineham
