i need to know on the djm-s11 can the USB be used as if i load a usb with music on it will it play whats on the usb stick

No, because all the processing is done on the computer. The USB ports are just a hub
It can be used to connect external drive for your computer to recognise but it not recommend as mentioned in this video https://youtu.be/1fWizt8b_tI?t=4232
Pioneer DJ also mentioned in their manual to not connect storage devices to the hub.
So please only use the USB hub to connect media players or controllers.

When I connect my S11 to my laptop for rekordbox via usb A, on my djm screen i see USB A and then a lock symbol. its like it cannot contact the rekord box app to hand the library. Any idea?
