Anybody have any experience using this feature care to enlighten me how it is in the real world?
Pulse, is there many complaints from users not being able to use this properly?
Hello Again,
I was hoping anyone with some real-life experience with the Cloud Library Sync feature would be able to give some feedback here to how it performs. For example, does it actually work, have you experienced any bugs etc
Myself and a friend are hoping to be able to add songs to, remove songs, add meta data, and dj on one library.
We are part of a duo and want to be able to work on the library independently so when we come to DJ we are using one USB.
Thanks

DEMASIADO !!!
We have been using the cloud for several months. In principle it works well. We are 2 DJs who work together and we can have everything synchronized on several PCs. For us the biggest drawback, which we have already left in another link ... is that it only synchronizes with Dropbox. You should be able to sync with DRIVE which has plans from 100Gb. Dropbox has the minimum 2Tb plan and it's expensive. Total between the CREATIVE plan and the DROPBOX plan is € 30 per month. TOO !!!
Biggest complaints come from, as Javi said, those who want to use other cloud storage sources, or the initial process of moving things into the cloud. Personally, all of my music is stored on an external SSD because it exceeds the capacity of my internal drive, but I do keep a copy of my music in Dropbox (with selective and smart sync enabled to pull it down as needed), so I'm able to have it all available in the cloud as needed.
Once you get it done, it's pretty seamless.
Alright thank you a lot for the honest feedback. We're gonna give it a go.
Question that I was planning on discovering along the way: Once the files are copied to the cloud, is rekordbox at that point referencing the original file location or the files that have been copied to dropbox?
I'd like to do as you have done, copy files to the cloud then get it off my machine so I dont have doubles eating space. But I do want rekordbox to be responsive and not wait for file to come down that are already on my machine
(ive been building my iTunes library since 2007 and I'm not quite ready to make a complete switch to another platform yet)
We made a query to Pioneer-Recorbox support about the handling of the files and the cloud ... since it does not make an XML file to save the CUE information and others about the songs ... We received a confusing and unclear answer. We believe that they want to hide the way of working with the songs and the data that Recordbox saves on them (this seems very bad to us) they should favor the knowledge and treatment of files and their data so as NOT to make mistakes when saving or making copies of security. Except my mistake, the songs are saved in the cloud with their data and saved in folders by artist (which is a roll to search for something, although if you get on top of the song and give it to see in the browser it tells you the location of the file, but not where its file data is), in summary the song has a copy of the cloud on the PC's SSD for as much as indicated in the previous post we pay for a 2Tb cloud but then we DO NOT usually have a 2Tb SSD in it laptop pc (a scam by Dropbox that does not support smaller plans and Recordbox for allowing it), with external HDD if you could. You should try the free 2GB Dropbox account first and test how it works with multiple songs. by the way when you later want to download from the cloud to a local folder, sometimes it doesn't work and we don't know why? . I do not know the option to upload to the cloud without having the files synchronized locally with Recordbox in the case of lack of space on the SSD disk. Without having a local copy, I doubt that the file can be reproduced without downloading it locally, which would require an internet connection to download the file. I think the external HDD should always be connected to play the files that do not fit on the SSD, although the copy will always be in the cloud, since Dropbox always syncs the files. another of the doubts as I mentioned before ... If the files are in the external HDD synchronized with Dropbox and Recordbox, where does it save the CUE data of the songs? On the SSD? On the HDD? In the case of breaking one of the 2 SSD or HDD, how would you recover the information of the CUE data of the songs?
Yeah kinda confused as well to be honest. I think I need to take your advice and test it with the free dropbox account first.
I did see in an official video some info that you may find useful. I have linked it below.
The mp3's stored at the original location, where you put them before adding to rekordbox, simultaneously to being stored in the dropbox folder (and then the cloud), unless you pick 'move' then its only in the dropbox folder.
The meta data, ie cues, loops, memories etc, are stored on your computer and on the pioneer server. That data doesnt go to dropbox.
If it all works then you never really need to think about what is where or how it works. Which is ideal, but I'm kinda skeptical to be honest
