Last week I moved my music collection to an external hd successfully. Moving the database was needed because I did not have enough storage left. I used RB5 + my previous Macbook pro.
Yesterday I received my new Macbook Pro M1, Big Sur and has more storage. Today I opened RB5 on this new macbook and RB asked me "something about the master database". I am not sure what the exact question was, sorry. I selected one of the 2 options and then RB opened. However, there was no music in the RB collection.
I then tried to open preferences but RB kept on crashing. I figured it must because of RB5 vs Big Sur so I updated to RB6.
RB6 opens beautifully now and I can open preferences. Of course still no music in my collection.
While my music is still stored on the external HD I am hoping I can get it back in my RB collection, including all my tags / star rating etc.
Thoughts? Highly appreciated!

@Dennis > First thing to try is to select the database on the external drive; open the Preferences > Advanced > Database and see if you're able to select the external drive from the drop-down at the bottom.
I tried to select the external drive, but it does not show in the drop-down. RB does also not show that external hd. Also my usb is not seen by RB while I can see that usb in my finder.
Ah, I had to change privacy settings in my macbook's preferences 1st. After that external volumes were shown. Thanks!
Unfortunately I have one last issue after I moved my database.
The data of import is not correct. Day and month seem to be fine, but they all were imported in the year 2020, which is not true.
How to repair this issue? Thanks.
Column "date added" is also greyed out in the tick boxes option.
Forget about my previous post (greyed out). It was because that column was selected.
So, still hoping one of you can help me repairing the wrong dates. Thanks.
