what happens when you play from Rekordbox (performance mode) or from a prepared USB stick?
what cable are you using to connect your phone to ch4?
George
Unboxed brand new XDJ XZ connected power speakers to master (xlr) and phone to channel 4. powered up the XDJ and speakers. Only getting sound coming out of one speaker. the odd thing is when i use the reverb fx i hear it in the speaker that doesn't have sound.
Only sound in one ear of my headphones also.
Please tell me this is something simple!!! the thoughts of packing this up and sending back to germany is killing me!!!!

Hey Keith,
Sorry to hear that - please try with a USB source first as it could simply be a bad connection from the turntable.
thanks for getting back guys
so i can play off USB - sound from both speakers - looks like it works fine
when i try and play off rekordbox - no sound from either speaker - but i do get sound from the macbook
both turntables - only sound from one speaker (left)
Brand new XLR cables - swapped back to old RCA cables - same result
Both turntables (technics 1210mk2) work perfectly with sound through both speakers when i revert back to old set up with Gemini two channel mixer
FYI - brand new to pioneer and reckordbox - so appreciate your patience.
Keith,
It wouldn't be the XLRs, more likely the connection from the turntable to the XDJ. Please try this...
Swap the XDJ end of the RCA's from the turntable; does the music now change to the other side (right)? If so, then the problem is either a bad RCA from the turntable, or your headshell is not connected properly, or the cartridge is not wired properly to the headshell.
Also check that you're connecting the phono inputs properly to the XZ; note that they connect vertically with the white (left) on top and red (right) on bottom, not horizontally.
