Is the drum track for squid coming?

I just purchased Toraiz Squid, but now I noticed it has no drum track feature and the feature is not even in the owner's questionnaire. This is is a dealbreaker for me, so is it coming on firmware update or should I return the unit?

This feature has been submitted to the research and development (engineering) team. But as it stands right now, there is no official word if it will be implemented or not. The original ideal "pairing" of the Squid was to be with SP-16, and so each of Squid's tracks triggered a different layer of SP-16, and whether you were using drum samples, loops, or any kind of sonic material, you had high flexibility with what sounds should be on what channels.

Many MIDI devices which play drums actually have a special feature where ALL drums are available to trigger by receiving chromatic MIDI notes at an extreme end of the note scale, all on the same MIDI channel.  This allows you to control all drums from a single track on Squid. May I ask you what device you're triggering with Squid, Tero?

Reply to the official comments, I am using multiple drum machines including software drum synths. And yes I should be able to use just one MIDI channel, and actually I am but on Toraiz Squid I will need still to dedicate one track / drum note.  I would need one track / per drum still since I see no way how to properly insert trigger for kick, snare and hihat to the same step. Or even more difficult, how would you remove only the snare from that step? Or generate random triggers and velocities for hihat notes only?

One should be able to set one track as drum track and define for example 6 notes (1 for each harmonizer button?) and see triggers for those notes. Or at least alternatively you should be able to turn the pitch knob and see and set triggers individually for that note only when it's selected.

Or is there some alternate way to insert multiple instruments(=notes) on steps on one track? Currently I have to dedicate 1 track for each note, otherwise the trigger randomizer, velocity or even triggerscan't be controller per drum note.
