DDJ-1000 master dB output difference Windows vs MAC

Hi Pioneer Team,

I have a DDJ-1000 and a friend came over yesterday and we played back-to-back. I was on USB-A/channels 1/2 using macOS (Catalina) and my friend was using USB-B/channels 3/4 using Windows 10.

We had the master attenuation level on the DDJ-1000 setup to 0dB and mixer output headroom set to -6dB. I found the Windows laptop was 6dB louder with the gain knobs at the same position, playing the same track on Windows vs macOS. In order to get the output level equal I had to set the mixer output headroom on Windows -12dB.

I noticed when doing this the output levels were spot on however the channel LED's on macOS (channel 1/2) were just sitting in the orange, just out of RED where Windows (channel 3/4) was sitting in the GREEN just out of the orange. So it appears something is off with the dB calibration on Windows vs macOS by 6dB.

That was the main issue. Another issue that was annoying was playing the same track at the same BPM on macOS vs Windows 10. There was BPM drift, not sure which device was drifting however it was enough to be annoying.

Can you please look into these issues? Rekordbox, firmware and drivers are all on the latest versions.

Thanks,

Daniel

Zoltak
