DDJ 1000 audio output issue

Recently purchased a DDJ1000 but noticed that the output to my speaker is quite tinny - lacking bass - i play the same track via bluetooth and the audio is rich out of the speaker yet via the mixer all that richness is gone - not sure if its a speaker issue or a mixer issue.

Have tried two different cables and neither solved the issue.

TIA.

Hi Michael,

Have you checked that the FILTER is not enabled on that channel?

Where would I check that? I don't believe I am running anything filter but as I'm just a novice i could be - I don't recall applying a filter at all.

One of the buttons on the left, any of the knobs on the channels:

Sorry, yes i use the filter but when the knob is centered then the filter is no longer applied correct - only when the knob is turned either left or right?

Correct; at the 12 o'clock position, or if the SOUND COLOR FX button is not blinking, the filter / effects are off.

So what is the way forward from here - is there some other filter which may be causing this issue?

Let's clarify... you're playing from rekordbox or a line input?

What kind of speaker are you connecting to, and with what kind of cable?

From rekordbox.

Connected to a JBL IRX 108 BT via an XLR cable.

Can you post a picture of your setup?

If I look at: https://jblpro.com/en/products/irx108bt

and the picture of the back: you are probably using the input as microphone inputs.

Having no bass sounds like having either only one part of both signals connected, or an impedance mismatch between output an input.

Can you make sure you have the dials of the input channels to the left for starters to make it a line in?

I have just 2 partyboxes connected and that seems to give me proper bass.

Edit: I see multiple options that can also wreak havoc.
Can you make a picture of the attached cables and the amp turned on in a way we can see the settings?

For instance feedback suppression, and ducking might be a setting that is accidentally turned on. And of course the dials of the gain knobs :-).
