How can I swap deck 1 and 3 so that I can control deck 3 with my controller or that my track continues playing on deck 3?

What hardware are you using?
A DDJ-200.
I would see the easiest work-around for that as follows:
- If you're mixing on deck 1, use an instant-doubles keyboard shortcut to duplicate that track and playing position to deck 3.
- Transition the playback from deck 1 to deck 3 using the faders / crossfader / whatever you want. This would need to use the onscreen controls or keyboard shortcuts as there is no way to control the deck 3/4 functions with the DDJ-200.
- Load a new track to deck 1.
I see. Thank you!
It would be nice if there was a deck switch feature in Rekordbox, which would apply all controls of deck 1 to deck 3. I would like to request it.
For controllers that support 4 decks, this is a breeze as there's a deck-select button.
Rekordbox should have a deck-select button, too.
This could make it a breeze for any controller.
Your controller doesn't support that functionality; it wouldn't know which deck you wanted to control as the MIDI signal doesn't change.
That's why Rekordbox should have one (or two) deck-select button, so that one can tell it which deckt to use. Then the controller doesn't need it if one can have them on the keyboard instead.
But again, please understand this isn't simply a "swap deck" function; you would still need some way of controlling the mixer, and you don't have that without a dual-deck control on the hardware. Even if the keyboard had it, your controller is still sending the same MIDI signal, which isn't to control a "focussed" deck, but a specific deck.
I am talking about virtual decks and all Rekordbox has to do is to use the commands for deck 1 for deck 3 if deck 3 is selected.
(including all commands for the mixer and everything else of course)
This is already a thing ... when you use hardware designed for that function.
This is a feature request for Rekordbox support of other hardware not explicitly designed for that function, especially small portable controllers.
Other DJ software does this already.
