Fresh Library on Rekordbox 6

HI

So i have rekordbox 5.8 and upgraded too Rekordbox 6, transferred playlist and all is working good. however after a few weeks of playing i have decided to clean up my library since i have time available now, so going from 17000 tracks to a new streamlined fresh library.

My question is how would i start with a fresh library on RB 6, i will keep RB 5 as is with the old library but wish to delete my RB 6 library and start a new with a fresh library and also fresh settings.

Is it as simple as just highlighting all tracks in collection and deleting?

What about the settings?

Searching around i came up with various posts and answers, some say delete, others say rename a file in user library too "old" or delete a certain file and it will be fresh.

If anyone can help in giving me the best solution so RB6 would be like a fresh install that would be greatly appreciated.

Bare in mind i only wish to have RB6 as a new and fesh install but keep my RB 5  library intact and as it was.

Perhaps @Pulse would have an answer for me

Thanks

I think my preference would be to preserve all settings, Highlighting all tracks in your collection (in Rekordbox 6) and deleting will just remove the track associations and leave all your settings intact. These changes should not affect Rekordbox 5, but I have never tried it.

As far as the settings go, you can set some to default, but I think they have to be done separately within the program.

I would definitely backup the database and your music files before doing anything. Just in case something goes wrong or you change your mind later.

Keep in mind that you are starting with a fresh library. Any songs you associate with it will not have any hot cues or memory cues and will need to be re-analyzed.

@Pulse may have something to add to this.
