xdj-rr hardware unlock not working?

(if this appears twice, it's because the website glitched out the first time I tried to post this, and I have no idea if it posted or not.)

I'm on a mac running Catalina, and the latest version of rekorbox.

I purchased an xdj-rr and connected it to my computer. According to the rekordbox website, the xdj-rr is a hardware unlock device, and according to the description of the free plan, features like recording in performance mode should become available with hardware unlock.

However, when I connect the xdj-rr to my rekordbox, my controller shows up in preferences and everything, yet absolutely nothing changes and the recording button remains locked and gives me a message saying "you cannot use this function with your current plan". According to the videos I've seen and rekorbox's website, this shouldn't be the case.

So either this should happen and the website just isn't up to date, or I've missed a step in hardware unlocking other than simply plugging the deck into my computer, or this is a bug.

I've made sure that I have the necessary driver and that everything is fine in security preferences.
