Filesize Rekordbox 6.2

Hello,

i tested Rekordbox sync Mobile ios. As i transferred about say 150 audio files i checked my IOS is showing these 150 files as 4GB Filesize (3 Playlists) My whole library on usb stick has 30 GB with 3200 audios. So i cannot imagine what it would take to bring these all 3200 on a iphone ios device if already 150 files are represented as 4 GB?

If you're using uncompressed files, that would account for it. If your 3200 songs is 30GB, that would be how much space is required on the iPhone (plus a small additional amount for the support files - likely less than 1GB total).

Thanks for your response i appreciat. But it does not seem to adress my problem:

Again: my 3200 music files on usb (the physical music items for rekordbox database) are in total 30 gb on USB Stick or sd card. To explain which compression here we go: Mostly wav aiff and mp3, some flacs.  Now using rekordbox mobile: about 150 Music items synced with rekordbox mobile are resulting 4 GB on iphone. This would result  about 85 GB on iphone if i would sync all 3200 music files. Why are now 30 gb on USB Stick now 85 GB on iphone?  This is way tooo much.

If you find time for a recap would be great.

@Lothar > You can't make a blanket conversion of 4GB / 150 songs = 27.3MB each, then multiply that out by 3200 songs and get 85GB. If the total for the 3200 songs is 30GB, that's a more accurate representation of the amount of space it will actually consume, plus a small amount for the wave, artwork, and metadata, plus the database.
