Hey there, I'm using a DDJ-1000 at home with playlists from USB.
Played tracks won't change color, I can only see which tracks are played at the moment. What am I missing? (yes, I'm in performance mode)

Are the tracks on the external device imported into RB? Or are you accessing them using the Explorer window? If using the Explorer display, many of the functions in RB do not work. You are only accessing the raw files. Always use the Collection to select imported tracks so that it will show tracks played, DJ count and history information.
Nope, the tracks are not imported. I'm using the laptop + DDJ-1000 like a CDJ setup.
(and to be honest I'd prefer to keep it that way)
All my music is prepared & stored on a desktop PC.
Would it be hard to implement a "tracks played" function to the performance mode if the tracks are not imported? Or is that not technically possible?
RB software does not modify the track files. All the information used by the application is stored in a database separate from track files. Tag information comes from the track files and all the other information is in the database. This is where the DJ play count, history, playlist and cue information is stored. This is why it is important to import all tracks into RB so the application can update the database.
