Rekordbox Mobile and Hotspopts

I’m trying to sync rekordbox mobile back to my laptop using a phone hotspot, but the laptop isn’t seeing the mobile connection at all. iPad is successfully connected to (iPhone) hotspot. Laptop is successfully connected to the same hotspot. But the laptop “Connect to a mobile device” screen isn’t seeing anything.

I have no trouble using regular wifi, so I know I’m following the correct process. Can anyone else try this out and let me know what they find?
