XDJ-XZ + RMX1000 = Recording Issue

Hello Folks, hope everyone is having great holidays!

I have an issue with my XDJ-XZ + RMX1000 where I don't find a way to record the sounds coming out of the RMX into my USB Memory stick, they do play and sound on the speakers but they don't get recorded.

The way I have them connected is this :

MASTER Output 1 of XDJ-XZ To INPUT of RMX-1000 / OUTPUT of RMX-1000 to SPEAKERS.

I've read that in order to be able to record this sounds and FX's coming from the RMX-1000 I have to split the signal.

I did some more research on that and want to confirm if these are the cables required for me to record the set??? :

I'm planning to use a UAD Arrow Audio Interface for the purpose.

Will greatly appreciate any help or tips on this matter! ,

Sincerely,

Muzi.

NEVER loop audio! You'll end up with a feedback loop and a squealing sound. In order to use the RMX-1000 with the XZ and actually record it, you'll need to use the SEND from the XZ to the input of the RMX, then from the output of the RMX into one of the channels on the XZ (3 or 4).

Hi Pulse,

Thanks for the quick reply, I just did what suggested and unfortunately it didn't work, it just create a feedback loop very unpleasant to the ear, now I'm kind of lost here, trying to wrap my head around the fact that its easier to set it up on my 8 years old CDJ setup than this 2020 controller...

I found this official reply here on the forum and I quote:

"The SEND on the XZ is intended for use with a DDJ-1000 or SP-16 for sampler use, and the return would be routed to one of the channel inputs. We don't recommend using an EFX or RMX unit with the SEND and returning it to an input channel as that would potentially create a feedback loop (if you were sending the master signal). Instead, we suggest connecting the RMX in series with the master output from the XZ to the input on the RMX, then output from the RMX to your speakers or recording device."

Now I'm not even sure, obviously the previous setting I had allowed to actually hear and play with the RMX-1000 , but no recording, so how can I move on from this and make it work ?

Could you guys please provide me with an actual guide on how to properly set it up ?

UPDATE:

I Figured it out,

So this is how I manage to connect the XDJ-XZ + RMX-1000 and record the samples coming out from the RMX-1000:

Master Out of the XDJ-XZ to INPUT RMX-1000 / OUTPUT RMX-1000 to SPEAKERS , I then used the remaining RCA output to connect to my computer interface and record properly, I'm a happy DJ now : )
