Macbook Pro 2018, worth it?

My old Macbook Pro can't run Rekordbox 5 or 6. I'm looking at upgrading. I found a refurbished 2018 with i9, 32gb, 2TB - killer specs. But I'm reading that some Rekordbox users had issues with this era of Macbook Pros. It would be really horrible to spend all this money and not be able to run the only program I need to run on it. 

I'm referencing this person who was running High Sierra.

The laptop I'm looking at has Catalina now. Did the issues get smoothed out with Catalina or Rekordbox 6?
