DJM V10, DJS1000 and RMX 1000 Wiring?

Man, I've gone down so many rabbit holes trying to figure this same thing out and on multiple forums and nobody seems to have a solid answer!

I just got a RMX-1000, and here's the best setup I've been able to figure out so far: I have Multi I/O Send -> DJS-1000 Input, DJS Output -> RMX-1000 Input, then RMX Output to Multi I/O Return. Then on Multi I/O MODE I select 1/4" Ch2/5, then on Channel 2 or 5 I select Multi I/O.

So this allows you to use the Multi I/O CH Select to select which channel you want the DJS-1000 to sample from, and then I have RCAs going from the DJS-1000 to a dedicated channel for playback.

When you turn on Multi I/O on Channel 2 or 5 you can use all the RMX FX plus EQ, Beat FX, etc.

What I haven't been able to figure out though, is if there's a way to get the DJS-1000 to sample something other than just a single channel. For example, if I have a CDJ playing a track on Channel 1 and a RMX effect going out over Ch 2 or 5, (I also have a synth on a dedicated channel) sometimes I want to sample the blended sound from all 3 devices and not just an individual channel.

If you found a better way to hook this up, can you please share? Thanks!

Also, I tried a few different combos. A lot of people said that the RMX-1000 should be connected to the Multi I/O S/Rs and to put the DJS-1000 on EXT 1 or 2. I'm not sure why, and it might just be because thats what one of the Pioneer RMX-1000 videos recommends, but I don't think they have a DJS-1000 in that video and they said the point of using Multi I/O is that you can then use EXT 1/2 for a pedal or something....

When I put the DJS-1000 on EXT 1 or 2 (with EXT 1 or 2 selected as the channel input), I still got it to sample but I had to press the EXT 1 or 2 SEND FX button and then turn the Send knob up from whatever channel I wanted to sample from. My brain couldn't hang with that flow when trying to play live

The V10 allows for a few different methods of connecting things, but it really depends on how you want to use them all together. If you want the ability to have individual controls, rather than chaining the DJS and RMX together, you can use them on the EXT1/2, or the RMX on the EXT and the DJS on the MULTI I/O (that would actually be my preferred method).

Hey Pulse, thanks for the suggestion! I tried hooking it up the way you suggested and everything seems to make sense. I had the DJS-1000 on Multi I/O and the RMX-1000 on EXT 2. Channel 1 had a CDJ with line selected and Ch 5 had EXT 2 selected. When I activat EXT 2 on the SEND panel and turn up the send knob on the CDJ/Ch 1 it routes the signal to the RMX on Ch5.

But I noticed as soon as I turn up the SEND on the CDJ channel the sound becomes noticeably hollow, even with no RMX FX activated. Turn the SEND down and it goes away. I also noticed its directly related to the Output on the RMX. If I turn the Output all the way down the distortion goes away, but if its up even a little it sounds like crap.

I checked to make sure all my firmware was current on everything and even dropped $150 on Mogami Gold TRS cables before posting this to make sure that wasn't the issue. I've seen a few posts with similar issues on older mixers, and suggestions?
