DDJ-1000 DVS Licence

Dear Pioneer/Rekordbox peoples,

After many years, I've made the jump from Traktor to your lovely ecosystem after buying a DDJ-1000.

I happen to have 2 turntables at home and was thinking of purchasing some time-encoded vinyl for occasional use.

Now I'm pretty upset to find that to use this feature (occasionally) I would have to sign up to a subscription (very sad face).

Is it likely at any point in the future I will be able to pay to unlock this specific feature (it's not like it's an ever evolving functionality that warrants a subscription model)

If not, they will just gather dust and/or be sold (very very very sad face)

PS. I don't think any of your competitors restrict this functionality to subscription based models?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry David, the decision was made that this is a controller with hardware control over the decks, so DVS would be a secondary option. While the DDJ-1000 supports DVS input, the subscription is required to unlock it -- or at the very least, using a hardware device that provides that unlock (such as a DDJ-XP1 or XP2, which can be picked up for a pretty reasonable price).

There are no plans to unlock it for free or separate from a subscription.

Sadly the market for XP1s and XP2s in New Zealand is pretty much non-existent. I guess this is one of the reasons why people crack software...
