Stumped at the beginning ! Jog wheel.

Old vinyl DJ here .  I just picked up a DDJ-400 and watched a few videos on beat matching. Seems basic enough except the videos showing the use of the jog wheel are difficult to follow visually. When I use the outer part of the jog wheel and make a minor adjustment , am I supposed to see the BPM numbers in Rekordbox 6 change slightly ? The displayed BPM does not seem to change at all , although I do hear the audio slow down or speed up. Maybe it is not supposed to change the visual display, just a brief slowing/speeding up ?

The display of the BPM won't be affected by anything you do with the jog wheel. Only the tempo slider does that. You may hear the audio speed up or slow down as you nudge the jog wheel, but it's only temporary, and will continue playing at the displayed BPM once you stop nudging. Does that answer your question?
