DDJ400 Does not connect to ipad

My DDJ400 does not power on with jpad. I have the camera adapter a d a powered USB hub. The adapter charges the ipad but does not power on the controller. Ipad software is up to date and adapter is Apple official. I've had this controller a week now and tried everything suggested and nothing!
