URGENT: Strange Piano Sounds

Hi,

My DDJ-1000 controller all of a sudden started to make what sounds like piano notes whenever i press any of the following buttons:

-Deck Select

-Load Track

-Touching the Jog wheel

-Slip

-Effects  On/OFF

-Performance pads in Sampling mode

The sounds are extremely loud, much louder than than the music volume, which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to use the controller as they are extremely annoying.

I have a gig in a few hours and I need urgent help please.

Thanks

If you're on a Mac:

  • Open the Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup app
  • Click Window > Show MIDI Studio
  • At the top of the window, click the drop-down menu and select New Configuration...
  • Give it a name (eg. 2022) and click OK
  • Click the IAC Driver (should be red) and press the Delete key on your keyboard
  • Close the Audio MIDI Setup application
  • Open rekordbox
  • Click the MIDI button
  • Click the Defaults button at the bottom of that window
  • Click no to saving the settings

If you're on a PC:

  • Open rekordbox
  • Click the MIDI button
  • Click the Defaults button at the bottom of that window
  • Click no to saving the settings

For either:

  • Make sure you have no other MIDI applications running. Really, there's no "piano" function in rekordbox, so it's potentially external.

Hi, Thanks for your reply...This helped:

" Make sure you have no other MIDI applications running. Really, there's no  "piano" function in rekordbox, so it's potentially external. "

I found there was another app  running in the background which I was unaware of the fact that it had a midi piano.  Apparently the controller was triggering it producing those frustrating sounds.

Thanks.
