Sorry! I had a typo in suggestion 3. It should read:
Could we find a way that regardless of what's displayed on the screen (mixer, sample editor, whatever) we could SWITCH the track for which we want to enter sequence triggers or edit parameters?
Dear Developers,
First off, the way I use my TSP-16, Firmware 1.4 was a great update so thanks for that.
Can we start the discussion on Firmware 1.5 or do you need a break? In any case here are a few ideas to think of when you're ready! : - )
- Could we have the currently playing pads brighter than the idle ones?
- Would it be possible to display a small version of the sample waveform for each track on the home screen, with a running playhead? It can even be dim with the name printed over it. It's just an indicator for where each sample is if you don't start them in sync. This is similar to the way Traktor remix decks show the waveform. Very useful me thinks!
- The rotary knobs could use some speed. For example when I'm in the mixer view the send amount needs 4 turns between 0-100%. A single turn would suffice. Perhaps rotating alone is fast and Shift+rotate is fine adjustment?
- Could we find a way that regardless of what's displayed on the screen (mixer, sample editor, whatever) we could mix the track for which we want to enter sequence triggers or edit parameters? I know we have the Track Mode but selecting the track that way re-triggers the sample. I would like to be able to select a track without re-triggering. How about pressing the Track Mode button and the pad itself would select the track without (re-)triggering it?
- Could we have wave shapes that are only positive or only negative? For example, I would like to have a parameter at 0 and modulate it by the LFO between zero and 50%. For example, like bending a note on a guitar. Only up. Can't bend down (yes, I know there is a whammy bar or one could pick an already bent note. Jeez! I'm trying to make a point here).
There are more ideas that I'd like to see but think these will do for now. I hope the above list will help start the brainstorming sessions.
Cheers!
