Rekordbox: a few ideas/gripes

Things that could be improved/have always nagged me in rb since version 2.x.x:

1. Update remainder at startup: let us acknowledge it once and don't show it every time rb starts until there is a new upgrade. There are lots of good reasons to not upgrade to the latest release, especially for professional djs looking for stability and reliability, so we often upgrade to the latest rb version only when it's really necessary i.e. there a bug fix for something that affects me rather than some new feature for performance mode that i don't even use

2. Hijacking the USB devices: if you have rb running when you plug in a USB device with some sort of memory, rekordbox will "hijack it" writing its own hidden folder with rb data and you are not even able to eject it properly from the OS (Mac OS), you always need to eject it from rb. Furthermore, if you are on Mac it's not so easy to remove the hidden folder (needs some work with the terminal which is not something all the average users are familiar with). It doesn't matter if you connect a digital camera, a drone, a toy for your kids, a usb stick with your personal data...rb will always lock it and pester it with hidden folders. You need to always remember to shut down rb before plugging in a USB device (and go back to suggestion 1 when you start rb again) or to unplug all non-music related memory devices before starting rb

3. Metronome volume: I keep metronome volume at maximum level, but when I restart rekordbox the setting is lost and goes back to minimum volume. It would be nice if it kept the volume setting

4. Export/light version: going back to point 1, another interesting possibility would be to have the export and performance parts as two separated programs: this would save memory/cpu on the user's computers for the vast majority of us that don't use the performance mode, and avoid us nagging with downloads and notifications for stuff that we don't use
