How are you connecting your phone to the CDJs?
Hi there,
Tried to connect my Rekordbox iPhone app to a pair of CDJ-3000s correctly linked by LAN cable through a switch, but they don't recognize the app. Tried using a lan cable connected to the same switch, and also tried by USB, no luck with either.
This is the error I got, it took around 30 seconds until it appeared, so it was trying to connect I believe:
Connecting Rekordbox from a laptop with a LAN cable worked in the same set up. So it makes me think that there's some compatibility problem between iOS app and the CDJ-3000s.
Also tried in a set of CDJ-2000nxs2 with the same set up and worked properly for both lan and USB connection, so I think there's no problem with my iPhone app and cables.
Can someone confirm if there's some known issue with the CDJ-3000 and iOS app?
PD: By the way, also tried with a CDJ-900 (non nexus) by LAN and didn't work, but not sure if this unit is even compatible.
Rekordbox for iOS version: 3.4.2.9 (latest I believe)
CDJ-3000 firmware version: 2.01

How are you connecting your phone to the CDJs?
Tried in the two available ways I'm aware of (not at the same time):
In both cases with an adapter for iPhone like this one:
By the way, today had the chance to try it in different units and this was the result:
I wonder why it works in some units and not in others (using exactly the same iphone, adapter and cables).
Had the chance to try again in a set with two CDJ-3000.
The first time I tried with a LAN cable it connected, but in like 30 seconds it became disconnected with the following error:
Then, tried again and it didn't connect anymore, getting the usual error:
This time tried with two different iPhones (using LAN cable connected to a switch and later also with a USB cable connected directly to a CDJ), one with iOS 15 and the other one iOS16, but no luck.
Taking into account that already tried with different set ups (different iPhones, cables, machines, etc) and always get the same error, I suspect that the problem might be with the Rekordbox app for iOS, any thoughts?
Thank you.
For me it works as follows:
1. CDJ-3000's connected via LAN cable to the Router
2. iPhone connected via WiFi of the same Router
3. In the rekordbox app connect with CDJ/XDJ
4. Select the iPhone from the Source screen of the CDJ-3000 (for both CDJ's)
Now I can choose from the Playlists synced to the mobile device or push tracks from the rekordbox app on the iPhone to the players.
Thanks for the answer Frank, but the CDJs are not connected to a router connected to the Internet, so I couldn't try using WIFI.
Antonio. From the rekordbox website it says:
*Connection
rekordbox for iOS: USB-B/LAN/Wi-Fi
rekordbox for Android: Wi-Fi only
If you can't use WiFi, you might be able to test a Lightning to USB-B cable (USB-A cable doesn't work for this purpose).
I don't have experiences with the Lightning to LAN adapter and don't know if you might need to configure something on the phone before it works. You may need to allow the rekordbox app in the settings the use of the local network. If this isn't enabled it wouldn't work. Please check the settings of the rekordbox app on your iPhone.
As I explained in the other posts above I could make it work with other units like the CDJ-2000NXS2 and the XDJ-RX (with both ways, LAN and USB). That makes me think that my adapter, cables and iPhone settings are correct, and that the problem might be with the Rekordbox app for iOS, let's see if Pulse can throw some light on this topic.
Ok - Let's see if Pulse has some more ideas.
But my comment regarding the settings was for the rekordbox app in IOS. You need to allow the network access for the app, otherwise it will not work.
Yes, I got your comment and appreciate it, but that's already configured and made it work with some machines, that's what I meant.
Cheers Frank!
