major audio issues when switching out of rekordbox using DDJ controllers

If I'm running rekordbox and both my DDJ-400 and DDJ-800, switching to another application like messenger, web browser, etc will usually cause audio to stop working, sounds completely chopped up. problem doesn't go away when I switch back to rekordbox, but if I toggle PC master out audio goes back to normal.

HP Victus laptop

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz   2.30 GHz

Windows 11 Home OS Build 22621.1105

latest version of rekordbox 6.6.9

**this is a repost, the original was either ignored/not seen, or I didn't see any emails/replies from Pioneer that were sent**

James,

the LatencyMon reports show that your computer has a problem in being able to provide consistent performance. I regret that the cause of this is not within our scope of support for your Pioneer DJ product as the hardware, software, and drivers are not the cause of this problem. rekordbox becomes unstable because your system is otherwise occupied with tasks that are not providing it with the resources it requires to function properly.

I'm going to recommend that you seek further assistance from the community here where they can help identify the causes of these issues.

Thank you for your understanding.

Probably because you have the DDJ being used as Windows' output audio device. Check that it's assigned to your computer's internal device and not the DDJ.

You have an 11th gen Intel CPU; there were known issues with that processor and the Intel Smart Sound feature -- please check the computer manufacturer's support page for all driver, and most importantly, BIOS updates.

I have updated every driver I could, updated the BIOS, rolled back recent windows update. the problem remains.

to be more precise about the audio issue: tracks slow down massively and distort, almost like a bitcrushing effect, whenever another program is open and it's having to do any kind of work - like opening an email, search for a file, etc. when this happens, the CPU meter on rekordbox jumps right up

I just tried increasing the buffer size to max to see if that would help - it makes the problem less severe, but it's still there.

@James > Sounds more like your computer can't handle the application swapping; you may want to run a LatencyMon check.

Go to the downloads page here: https://www.resplendence.com/downloads

Scroll down to LatencyMon 7.20 and click the Download Here button to the right.

Terminate other applications, and disable your internet connections.

Launch Latency Monitor while rekordbox is NOT running. Start capturing and leave it running for about 15 minutes. After you have stopped capturing, please go to the MAIN tab and click Edit > Copy Screenshot to Clipboard and paste it into your reply. Do the same for the Status, Processes, and Drivers tabs as well.

just for clarity: i started latencymon with rekordbox not running, then opened rekordbox once latencymon was running. I assume this is what you meant, if you actually wanted me to run latencymon for 15 minutes without rekordbox running, let me know.
