XDJ-1000 mk1 won't read disc even when formatted correctly

I bought a new 2TB western digital easystore because my old 2TB HD (which reads fine) is getting old.

I formatted this new HD to FAT32. It works fine on my PC version of Rekordbox. I uploaded my playlists to it.

But the player will not read it.

What's going on? Is there some write/read speed thing I don't know about?
