XDJ-XZ Spin Back Issue

Looking for some insight on an issue I typically run into while in standalone mode (don't connect to laptop). 

XDJ-XZ (firmware and USBs are up to date and formatted correctly) tends to lag/skip when back spinning the jog wheels with both decks playing simultaneously. It's almost like the device isn't capable of catching up to the media on the USB no matter what the tension is set at. This doesn't appear to be an issue with CDJs from what I can tell. 

Has anyone experienced/found a solution to this issue?
