problem with DJM 900 and Traktor Scratch Pro 2

hey,

i´ve got today my djm 900 and my tractor scratch pro 2 certified upgrade kit.

I´m using also two stanton st-150 II turntables with ortofon s-120´s, which i plugged in channel 1 and channel 4 (phono) for timecode use.

My pc is set up with windows 7 prof. 64 bit.

So, the problem:

I was installing traktor and djm utility/driver. Then i do step by step the same things, which he does:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bspD_Hxi-4M

my traktor doing nothing. The vinyl on "deck a" at traktor doesn´t spin. So i look up at the timecode settings in the preferences,

but there is no signal comming from the turning table with the timecode vinyl on it. I decide to switch from usb to phono, and there

comes the timecode-signal thru my speakers. The signal is very loud and clear, no interrupts.

So, is it a traktor problem or where did i stucked? Where is the issue?

note: when i set up the djm tool to just play the music over usb (channel faders), i load the track at traktor,

look at channel 1 an there comes it without any problem, just the timecode doesn´t come in.

please help, im very thankful for any reply

greets

@van NoXx > When you ran through the wizard portion of the config, did you select "Timecode > Vinyl"?

As shown on the video, i set channel 1/4 at the djm utility for Timecode Vinyl - the wizzard nowhere shows any option like "Timecode > Vinyl"...

... first he asks if i using a controller, i say no, then he asks about the interface i use, there I´m doing it as said on the video @YT,

set "no timecode control" - should i there use "Vinyl (Audio 4/8 DJ)" ? After that he asks about the deck-setup and ends afterwards with finish.

thanks for reply

The video, and Traktor wizard instructions therein, are for using CDJs.

You're using turntables with the Traktor vinyl; you need to select Timecode: Vinyl at that step.

ok, a quick recap for me:

First I install Traktor and the DJM-driver/tool, then set up the channel 1 and 4 to "USB" on the mixer,

switch to "Mixer Output", set there channel 1 and 4 to "Timecode Phono", close the tool.

Then open Traktor, the wizard pops up, i say "no external controller".

Afterwards comes the "Timecode Controller Selection", where i have to set "Vinyl (Audio 4/8 DJ)".

Next i choose the amount of decks i would use, and finish.

that´s it?

If so, i should learn to do not stick only to youtube-videos...  ;)

But i didn´t found anywhere any guideline to do the install, not in the manuals,

not on the sites of the retailers.

But otherwise, I´m very stupid to don´t try with other settings... please Pioneer-god, don´t blame me :(

So, big thanks to you Pulse, i will try it after i done my work today ;)

@van NoXx > I see a couple of problems...

1) You don't have all your outputs configured; you need to set outputs for deck B to the 900nexus 7 and 8.

2) You don't have any inputs configured (or at least not shown).

my problem is solved:

simple update from 2.0.0 to 2.0.2 was missing, but the Service Center didn´t tell me.

thanks for the help!

Ah, yeah, 2.0.0 was problematic as the first release!
