@Anthony - How are you trying to record? How do you have everything set up?

I have the very same issue. I'm trying to figure out how to record in tracktor using my djm 900. Seems to only hear channel 1. Looked in Mix recorder in the settings and can't find a usb or midi option. Any advice would be appreciated. My setup is listed below. ..

Macbook Pro 2.4 HHz Intel Core 2 Duo Snow leopard 10.6.8

DJM 900 Nexus

2 Technic 1210 MKII

Novation Dicers

Hate to say it but i have never had any success recording a clean mix into traktor from an external mixer (ive tried my djm900, a friends korg and a friends denon) using usb. Ad i tried til i pulled my hair out.

I got a audiophile soundcard for my pc for 60 bucks and run the digital out into the soundcard and record thru audacity. Works perfectly.

I should also add that i was not able to run usb output into audacity either without serious sound issues.

Not hating here.. But if i had to do it all again, id have saved all those troubleshooting hours and just spent the 60 bucks to get a soundcard that i can go directly into.

This probably doesnt apply to laptop users.. I just dont record on my laptop at this point. Anybody know of a similar reasonably priced soundcard u can add to a pc laptop thats not too expensive?

Sorry, to answer the orig questions - For first two posters, there is a huge thread about how it is supposed to work.. Did u try those steps? Im assuming u want to record using traktor, right? If not, audacity or audition?

  • Basically, for traktor, ur supposed to set traktor up to receive recording input from a spare djm channel. Theres a bunch of settings and steps that u need to use in the gigantic recording thread on this forum.

  • For audacity, ur supposed to just select the nexus soundcard as input and off u go.

  • neither worked for me but good luck.

  • For recording to a real external source like a little digital recording device or a seperate pc/mac soundcard, just run from any of the master/booth/record outputs and u shouldnt have any issues at all except possibly tweaking the gains depending what ur using. This is pretty much failproof so i dont think this is what ur trying to do. But its the easiest, cleanest option imo.

Some users are currently experiencing troubles recording from a DJM900nexus into OSX10.7 or 10.6.8; updated drivers are on the way to address these issues.

Pulse please tell me these drivers are coming soon I thought it was just traktor that didnt work properly atm but iv just tried to record a 2 hour mix to find that its useless as its all distorted and sounds rubbish :-( I was playing to 0 db all the way through and USB output level was set to -19db if that makes any difference?  Please tell me when the release date for the driver is!

Show me the drivers! I first posted about calibration/recording problems back in July. 4 Months! I'm sorry but for something that is suppose to be your flagship product this is ridiculous. I bought this mixer specifically for it's Traktor integration. I would have been better off buying a used 800 and an NI soundcard. I don't mean to be rude but you guys knew that Os X Lion would be coming along and it sounds like you guys were completely un prepared. Even Serato which didn't initially have Lion Support caught up quickly after launch. Native Instruments stuff all worked in 32 bit mode.

Unfortunately there is a long and painful process with preparing new software updates and new drivers. The engineers are working hard on the fix and it's on the way soon. There were also other issues related to this problem and Pioneer had to contact Apple to work together to fix the issues with one of Apple's OS update.

The problem was with an Apple update and as previously noted by myself and Foster, the engineers are working to resolve the issue and release a updated driver.  As soon as it's available we will post here.
