I assume firmware has been updated.. If so, the unit must be bad..
Cant think of any efx where its supposed to work like this but i assume uv tried the basic rolleffect?
Hey guys, Just opened my second DJM 900 after returning the first one for issues. I am not sure if anyone has experienced any issues with the recent DJM 900 update ? I am having an issue with the xpad. i set the beat grid say to 4/1 no matter where I touch the xpad the (red) beat marker moves to the next beat ?

@Super Lou > Can you make a video so I can see exactly what's going on?
That's normal operation - each effect has a set range for the X-pad.
Ya.. I thought if u touched the right most side yiud get 1/1 and then the leftmost side, ud get 1/2. This os right.. U dont get the whole range ud get if u were to use the buttons cuz u cant fit that many selections on a 2 inch xpad. Mine works the same.
Pulse the DJM 900 I had pror to this one did not work that way when I touched the x pad the red dot did not jump to the next beat grid it remained wherever I touched the x pad now it jumps away . This is the way it's suppose to work ?
On that effect in ur video, I believe the x-pad gives you 4 different beat sizes - so the x-pad is divided into 4 equal-sized portion - starting from right to left, it would go something like this | 1/8 | 1/4 | 1/2 | 1/1 | so imagine each of your four fingers can tap each section and you should get that sections beat size. Im going off memory on the above beat sizes but I think thats right for sliproll x-pad beat sizes but in any event, its smallest to largest from left to right.
*** my bad: that first part should read "starting from left to right"
Thanks Kevin, I assume my first DJM 900 was really screwed up Working on my second :)
Ya.. Not to worry tho cuz it looks like its working ok... And i think ull find that having a lesser amount of beat sizes on the xpad makes it really nice to use for short bursts of an effect (think about the 4 finger thing and what u can do witht that).. Its def one of my favorite features on the 900..
Just keep in mind that different effects have different xpad parameters depending whether u have the effect big yellow button on or off.. The manual gives a decent breakdown of what to expect for each effect in each state (mainly the yellow button on or off). Good luck
@Super Lou > May have been changed with different firmware... but yes, that is normal.
