MUST HAVES:

-          The mixer definitely needs a 100% fade of the jet AND the filters in the inst fx section!!!

-          The gain/volume of the noise and side chains MUST set down maybe to the old level or a bit increased! I nearly blow up the sound system when using it the first time!!!

WISHES:

-          It would be nice to have the full bpm in the screen (with decimals), f.e. 128,34 bpm!

-          @ The new reverb, it would be awesome to set the length of the tail by turning the freq. knobs from 12 to end, like in the echo! Then you've got the ability of room changing and of length of the reverb! This is very important by doing some melodic music (Trance, House), because you can splash out vocals or melodies without changing the pitch like with the room size :-)

-          It would be awesome, when you using the side chain sample, that if no frequency is selected, you get a 4 beat loop to play with, like a roll! Imagine how crazy stuff you can do by changing the pitch with a finger

-          And also, if no frequency is selected, you can use the oscillators 1-4 as a drum pad, just by hitting the touch screen! :-)

-          And maybe, it should have a high pitch at the zip effect too, but I don't know exactly, how to realize it with the parameter knob... (Your creativity is asked!!! J )

-          New Effects to the side chain

The DJM-2000 should support Timecode for DVS (Traktor / Serato / e.t.c.), like it's little brother DJM-900.

That would be a great improvement (especially if it is firmware related only), otherwise it's a big mistake from Pioneer engineers not to include this as an option while designing the DJM-2000.

(I had to buy a Native Intruments Audio 10 for my DJM-2000 in order to use ti with Traktor Scratch Pro).

Done.  Hopeless plea for the ability to add some nice fat rotary knobs like the ones for the 800.  Otherwise, honestly, I think the DJM-2000 is darn near perfect.

A worthwhile survey, completed!

While I hope this survey will help to fuel further firmware updates and enhance the DJM-2000 experience for current owners, I have no doubt it'll also help the development of newer hardware further down the DJM product line.

yeah, maybe I'm wrong, but my hunch is that that survey has little to do with the DJM-2000, and everything to do with beginning development on its successor.

It's a gauge of how disgruntled the DJM-2000 owners are of the recent 'not-so-perfect' firmware update and if it needs immediate correction or not?

A successor—meaning, a mixer that is as complex (or more) than the 2000, with additional and/or improved features—would take a long time to develop.  Concepting, planning, designing, testing, revising, testing, marketing, etc… all that takes time.  I'd be very surprised if they hadn't already begun, even if we might not see it for 2 more years or more.  Pioneer is really on-point when it comes to the hardware development (look at how many innovative products they've launched in the last 2 years).  Those don't just happen, they take time.  Then again, it's just a hunch.

I would absolutely LOVE additional support for the MIDI section of the touch screen! Putting a custom Icon set or additional characters/ letters/ numbers etc. would help a lot. I know we are 'Pro's" and should know our key mapping, but it would be nice to have the extra customization abilities.

character sets or icons instead of just the 'BOX' and or being able to use our own DJ Logo as a backdrop. it could be a little side app for our computers/ Mac's that would display each of the screens under the midi control menu, and let us write text, color icons, etc

did the survey also! another suggestion that I WOULD PAY FOR would be a MULTI-TOUCH screen upgrade option. It has been mentioned before and I sided with the suggestion.

Moto Mike:  The screen is multitouch, what more do you want it to do? :/

@Mark90: The screen of the DJM-2000 is only 2 points multitouch, allowing no more than 2 fingers to interfere. Perhaps this is what Moto Mike means (as I suppose that he owns a DJM-2000 and already knows that 2 fingers can interract on the screen).

Yes, I do own one... And I do know ONLY 2 fingers (points) can interact at one time on the mixer. Sometimes I want to do more frequencys at a time than 2. Having the ability to use it as a drum box (beat box) also to echo another users suggestion

Any smartphone you can buy today is 'only' 2 point multitouch.  I can't see this being changed in the current hardware.  Are 3+ control points really that desirable?

Or like on a MAC, where multi finger(swipes) guestures could change to another feature/ menu option (switch between functionality) without pressing 'Type A'

Prices on the Touch sensors have dramitically decreased since the introduction of the DJM-2000, and retrofitting one to ours should be pretty straight foreward.

Anyhow, I wasn't trying to deraille the thread.

I won't argue with you over this, It IS a feature that I would use and it least a few others would also. We need to have the foresight to see past our noses and be innovative. Pioneer IS innovative, and I appreciate that! This would be the next level for me, and I feel it doesn't warrant another mixer to integrate it. I would pay $200-$300 range to upgrade my hardware.

About the comment on the 2 point on cell phones - well, if that really is the case, why not keep us in touch (pun intended) with what we are usto already? Like swipe, pinch, scroll, etc.

The fact that there is a screen on our mixer should leave the door open for a lot more interaction with our hardware than what is currently available is what I'm getting at.

What about the other suggestion? Custom MIDI Icon sets? do we it least agree on that? Lets not all loose sight on what the possibilities for this GEAR is capable of.

Frankly, I want Pioneer to FIX the known issues first, before embarking on enhancements.

That way when the latter is not to your liking or opens new issue/problem, you can always opt to not update the firmware.

I was just thinking about this, on the next version an integrated 4 port USB hub with a 5th & 6th for the 'to computer 1 & 2'  in addition to the lan hub

why in the world would anyone want 6 USB ports on this mixer. I would want the 1 for the sound card and one more to plug a flash drive into to record like the DJM-350. I can't see a reason for any more.

im guessing to plug all the cdjs into and do computer swaps.

Pionix hit the nail on the head! for the people using a MAC and only have 2 USB ports, this would solve the issue of an external USB hub to connect all the CDJ's with 'Other' (Traktor, Ableton, Serato, etc.) software... And like the 'LINK' feature, having the Comp 1 & 2 helps for 'Swaps'
