DJM T1 - Is it analog or digital?

It's digital.

It's in the specs if you look ;)

It's a controller, it's not a mixer at all -- the audio mixing is done entirely within the software.

Surely it's a hybrid Pulse?

Really? none of the traktor gain, eq or faders move when you move them on the mixer. We're not confusing it with the DDJ-T1 controller?

This is where I smack my forehead and proclaim "D'OH!" and curse the fact the two model names are so similar.

The DDJ-T1 is controller only, mixing done in software.
The DJM-T1 is a digital audio mixer, mixing done onboard. The inputs are all run through A/D converters prior to the mixing bus, then D/A prior to output.

Hi, it's not built for internal mode. You'd use the DDJ-T1 for Internal. The point of the DJM-T1 is to use Traktor in External mode.

i want to use it to mix using internal mode.

but none of the mixer knobs is working

with the internal mode the sound is better .

You can't use it in internal mode, it's not meant for that. It's not a controller, it's a digital mixer. The knobs control the gain stages within the mixer, not traktor. The sound quality is very good in external mode. It's 48kHz & the difference will be made but your track quality & if set your gain stages correctly. 

Not sure why would you spend double the money on DJM-T1, rather than a DDJ-T1 controller if you want to mix internally?

Is it just me, or does esoh's argument not make much sense. How can the sound be better using internal? the sound quality is ultimately decided by the equipment the music is routed to. I will go on record right now and say that the djm-t1 is probably one of the best sounding mixers i have worked with. 

The other question to esoh is, what do you mean by mix internally exactly? Like you don't want to touch the mixer at all? you would rather mouse click and hold the mixer, or up-fader on the comp screen? 

Sir if u read the manual.it says this is an internal mixer.what i mean mix internally is that.the EQing knobs.Fader knobs shwould be controlled from the mixer.Sir can u please help me do that?Am using traktor 2.5 pro

Technically, internal is better (less A/D conversion & floating point headroom for gain etc), but that doesn't mean it's "better" ie audibly pleasing, analogue harmonic distortion is the warm pleasing effect our ears like. This is another discussion entirely, bus a most are using MP3's, this is a much more influential factor affecting quality than the difference between internal & external.

The DJM-T1 is not a controller, therefor does not control the EQ & faders in traktor as the mixer electronics handle that. You can set it to Internal if you want, but If you've ever used Traktor internally, you'll know only one stereo output is issued & would therefor only occupy the left stereo channel of the mixer rendering it a £900 soundcard. That's why they have the DDJ-T1 (£749) for internal mixing (handling one stereo out) & the DJM-T1 for external mixing where the gain stage, fader & EQ are all processed externally by the mixer on two pairs of stereo channels.

Why would you pay £900 for an external mixer, when you really wanted a £749 internal mixer?

I've used the DJM-T1 since it's release & is a great mixer, but it's really an external mixer.

i had to choose between.Denon DN-X1600

THIS THE FIRST TIME AM USING PIONEER.

THE SOUND IS GREAT NO DOUBT.BUT I BELIEVE DENON IS MORE OF A CONTROLLER THAN THE PIONEER(DJM-T1

No problem. They both have midi functionality & the DN-X1600 is an excellent mixer too.

@esoh > I don't feel the 1600 is more of a controller at all, but that's besides the point because we can't discuss competitor's gear here.
