DJM 2000 SAMPLER

Can you use the sampler to record and playback without transferring it to a cdj 200? Can it be used as a tradition sampler like on the djm 400. I need a mixer with sampler...I have 2 cdj's 200/djm 700...looking to sell my djm 700 and get either djm 400 or 2000. If it does on the fly sampling inaddition to all other features then I'll buy. I have a Roland SP555 for my presents...but need a mixer for on the fly sampling....

The intention of the sample recorder on the DJM2000 is really to send that sample to a CDJ.  If you're looking for true sampling, the SP555 is your better option, or even a Cycloops.

Pulse, is it possible to sample and playback (like the djm 400) without sending it to the CDJ? I saw a cue button below live sampler...can you tell me what it does? Thnx I appreciate.

Sorry, no, there is no provision for playback of the samples on the 2000 itself, they must be linked to a CDJ for playback.

Pulse, is this only a question of software (so it may be possible in future updates to play a recorded sample on the djm 2000) or is it also a hardware problem?

No and I doubt it will ever be available as there's no ability to play it back or override a channel's audio, control its length, speed, etc.

I understand. Feel sorry about that, because the midi mapping menu would be a pretty good base for a database of shouts & other sounds that could be saved on the djm and used at any time without cdj.

What a shame it doesn't do that...I know a whole dancehall/reggae community is dissappointed. We use a lot of preset samples plus on the fly. I wish that the DJM 400 could have been updated. A mixer that cost so much for the average Joe should have atleast been considered to have a simple playback if they went thru the trouble of linking it to a CDJ. Dont get me wrong, no other machine comes close to this...Its taking me all year to save up to buy all three...but I will look into C-LOOPS, PVDJ GRABBER for my on the fly sampling...thnx for responses, I thought I wuz alone on this..
